'Apollo 11: First Steps Edition' to show at INTUITIVE® Planetarium

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The U.S. Space & Rocket Center will begin showing “Apollo 11: First Steps Edition” in its new INTUITIVE® Planetarium Saturday, June 1. The special giant screen version of the film was made exclusively for science centers and museum theaters and includes never-before-seen footage of the historic Apollo 11 mission to the moon.

Produced by Statement Pictures in partnership with CNN Films and distributed by MacGillivray Freeman Films, “Apollo 11: First Steps Edition” is designed to take full advantage of the immersive experience of a dome theater. With its state-of-the-art digital planetarium technology, the INTUITIVE® Planetarium will provide an amazing experience for visitors seeing the film.

The film is timed to the much-anticipated celebration of the 50th anniversary of NASA’s Apollo 11 mission – the first to put men on the moon.

“Apollo 11: First Steps Edition” will play daily at noon, 3 and 4 p.m. Tickets are separate from museum admission or can be purchased in combination with a visit to the museum. For more information, visit rocketcenter.com.
