March Space Works Theme: Moonbound Makers

This month, Space Works will transform into a laboratory of Moon-bound Makers as teens code, design, and build technologies for future Moon missions. Inspired by real lunar exploration, students become engineers, inventors, and problem-solvers preparing for the challenges of returning to the Moon!

Lunar Engineering Challenge

Open Lab Time

Investors Club: Lunar Engineering Challenge

This is a creative engineering space where teens take on hands-on design challenges inspired by real lunar exploration and the NASA Artemis program. Guided by the engineering design process, they will use upcycled materials to build a lunar prototype such as a modular habitat, astronaut tool, or useful item for surviving on the Moon. Through problem-solving and iteration, students develop confidence as innovators while learning how engineers design solutions for extreme environments.
Ages: 12+. Free.

Fridays & Saturdays 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Sundays 1:30 - 4:00 PM

Teen Maker Hour

Mission: MoonCode

is an introductory block coding class where teens learn the basics of programming through hands-on, space-themed projects. Students create lunar-inspired animations, design interactive stories, and build simple Moon and space-based games using Scratch block coding. Through creative challenges and guided exploration, teens will develop problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and confidence in their ability to code.
